A pre-med information session, "Becoming a Physician," will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, in Room 302, O’Shaughnessy Educational Center. The session will be moderated by Dr. Charlotte Ovechka, pre-health professions adviser at St. Thomas, and Laurence Savett, M.D., instructor of the fall course, the Humanism of Medicine.

The informal program will present advice for considering a career in medicine and taking advantage of the undergraduate years to prepare for that career. Topics include: Career motivation, the successful candidate, admission requirements, academic record, health-care experience and the application process.
