Attention all you potential University of St. Thomas Bike Walk Week team members! Is the fact that you live too far away from campus keeping you from signing up for our team?
Even if you can’t bike or walk to work, you can participate by committing to take one trip by bike or foot the week of June 4 through 12 that you normally would have taken by car. The grocery store, post office, library and video store, for example, are all potentially easy destinations. With nice weather just around the corner (we hope), you even may find the time and energy to make multiple trips. And the more trips you make, the better your chance of winning prizes.

As an added incentive to get out there and get moving, the Macalester Groveland Community Council is putting on a Golden Shoe Hunt. Each Saturday throughout May, a golden shoe will be hidden in an area where people walk, jog or bike in the Mac-Groveland area. If you find one, bring it to the MGCC office at 320 S. Griggs St. in exchange for a great prize.
