Thanks to Project Global Officer, a Department of Defense program, dozens of St. Thomas Reserve Officers' Training Corps students have learned languages and cultures around the world.
In the first year of a new national award, the Department of Defense recognized St. Thomas’ Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) program as one of the best in the country.
The University of St. Thomas has had a campus comection to military service since 1906. Today, that connection extends beyond the university's iconic Arches.
The 27th annual vigil will be held in the quadrangle. It will conclude at 5 p.m. Monday, Veterans Day, with a ceremony and talk by an Air Commando pilot.

The University of St. Thomas' Air Force ROTC Detachment 410, on campus since July 1, 1948, has been preserving its history with the help of a 34-foot mural located in its remodeled Murray-Herrick Campus Center office space. The mural has been signed by numerous veterans, from the WWII era to a recently graduated cadet entering flight training.
