Dr. Meg Wilkes-Karraker to speak at Feminist Friday April 20
Dr. Meg Wilkes-Karraker, Sociology Department, will be the guest speaker at the next Feminist Friday presentation on Friday, April 20.
The presentation will be held from 12:15 to 1 p.m. in the Luann Dummer Center for Women, Room 103, O'Shaughnessy Educational Center.
Wilkes-Karraker will speak about Global Families, the title and topic of her most recent book. Global Families (Allyn and Bacon, forthcoming, 2007) provides family scholars with a methodical introduction to the interdisciplinary field of globalization, by examining the ways in which globalization impinges on families throughout the world in four major areas: demographic transitions, transnational employment, international violence, and worldwide culture.
Bring your lunch; dessert will be provided.
