The St. Thomas Veterans Association and Student Engagement are sponsoring a toy drive for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve “Toys for Tots” program. Toys will be accepted at the following locations until 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20:
- Minneapolis campus – School of Law, Room 124
- St. Paul campus – Child Development Center
- St. Paul campus – Tommie Central, Anderson Student Center
Examples of preferred toys include action figures, baby toys, dolls, Nerf guns and puzzles. The Marine Corps Reserve does not accept toys that are used or look like realistic weapons. Clothes, food or liquid produces (e.g., cologne, perfume, body wash, lotion and toothpaste) also are not accepted but may be donated to local charities. Homemade toys are accepted but should be safe (e.g., free of sharp edges and small items that could be swallowed or otherwise injure children).
Gift cards are accepted and are used to purchase toys for distribution.
