The Feminist Fridays series will hold its first discussion of spring 2000 from 12:15 to 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, in Room 103, O’Shaughnessy Educational Center.

Inventor and businesswoman Pamela Ryan, will speak on “It Can’t be Pink, It Has to Work: Protecting Our Athletic Daughters.”

The benefits of girls’ participation in sports are well known; but how does having the right athletic equipment help our daughters excel and stay involved with sports? Ryan will discuss how she saw the obvious and invented and marketed the Ponytail Helmet as well as team uniforms for serious female athletes.

The Feminist Fridays series is sponsored by the Luann Dummer Center for Women. All are welcome; feel free to bring your lunch.
