Heid Erdrich to read poetry from her new book, The Mother’s Tongue, on Oct. 14

UST’s Heid Erdrich, English Department, will read from her 2005 book of poetry, The Mother’s Tongue, at the next Feminist Friday presentation hosted by the Luann Dummer Center for Women.

This event will be held from 12:15 to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, in the women’s center, Room 103, O’Shaughnessy Educational Center. Bring your lunch; dessert and beverages will be provided.

Erdrich’s book has been described as a “powerful treatise on the transformative state of mothering” and “funny, sexy, rowdy and surprising, these poems pretty much cover the entire human existence.”

The book was published by Salt Publishing, a United Kingdom press that is starting a series of books by indigenous writers called Earthworks.
