Tony Potami, former president and CEO of the William C. Norris Institute at the University of St. Thomas, died on June 3 at the age of 61. The institute, established by Control Data Corp. in 1988, invests in early-stage, technology-based companies in underdeveloped areas of Minnesota. Under Potami’s leadership, the Norris Institute joined the University of St. Thomas in January 2001. Potami retired as president and CEO of the institute in 2003. Potami was recognized as a leader in technology, higher education and business.
