Legendary coach Tom Feely dies at age 87
Coach Tom Feely, a legendary figure at St. Thomas for parts of seven decades, died Saturday, Jan. 13, in St. Paul at age 87.
Feely came to St. Thomas in 1939 as a student and graduated as the school's career scoring leader in basketball. As a basketball coach he notched 417 wins and seven MIAC titles before retiring in 1980. Feely also coached baseball, and was an instructor, athletic director and a development staff member.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, at O'Halloran and Murphy Funeral Home, 575 S. Snelling Ave. A Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 324 Prior Ave.
