UST students and faculty are invited to an ice cream social sponsored by the UST literary club, Sigma Tau Delta, on Friday, Sept. 18.
This year’s get-together will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the O'Shaughnessy Room (leather room), Room 108 of the O’Shaughnessy-Frey Library Center. The event will have a Harlem Renaissance theme.
Included in the program will be a reading from Zora Neale Hurston’s novel, Their Eyes Were Watching God, and a brief lecture on literature and culture of the time period. Members of the UST Jazz Ensemble also will perform.
Club members will unveil the design for a new stained-glass window honoring Hurston that will be installed in the O’Shaughnessy-Frey Library Center this year as part of its 50th anniversary celebration.
