The Opus College of Business welcomes David Deeds, Ph.D., Schulze Endowed Chair in Entrepreneurship, as a new faculty member and the new director of the John M. Morrison Center for Entrepreneurship. Most recently from the University of Texas at Dallas, where he was associate professor of organizations, strategy and internationalmanagement, Deeds has done research in technology entrepreneurship, strategicalliances, commercialization of research, biotechnology, and research and developmentmanagement.In addition, the Opus College of Business has hired 12 other faculty members: Mufaddal Baxamusa, finance; Christine Bennett, marketing; Janell Blazovich, accounting; Michael DeVaughn, management; Dobrina Georgieva, finance; Katherine Glac, ethics and business law; Nuri Hassumani, management; Clinton Lanier, marketing; Christopher Michaelson, ethics and business law; Kristine Sharockman, accounting; Peter Southard, decision sciences; and Chad Sponsler, accounting (spring 2009 semester).
