New in the library: Enhancements made to Grove Music Online
Grove Music Online, available via the UST Libraries Web page, has been enhanced and updated.
- Author amendments: This summer more than 300 articles in Grove Music Online were revised, with new bibliographies added to many. Full details can be found here.
- New print and e-mail functionality: New "Print This Page" and "E-mail This Page" icons now appear on each article page. Citation information is included at the bottom of the printed or e-mailed article. Currently, this functionality has been implemented on a per-page basis. Watch for enhancements.
- Quick search and search results: In response to user feedback, the Quick Search performs a Boolean search and a search by default, thereby increasing the accuracy of search results. The search results page now provides more information to the user about the level of search being executed. There are now seven search levels and, by default, the search engine moves from one level to the next until results are found. The levels are: 1) Exact match found in heading. 2) All words found in heading. 3) All words found in full text. 4) Any word found in heading. 5) Any word found in full text. 6) Pattern expansion on search term. 7) Quoted searches on heading or full text, allowing users to include quotation marks in the Quick Search box for exact phrase searching.
