Welcome Class of 2030 and every returning student! It's been exciting seeing students move into residence halls ahead of undergraduate classes beginning Wednesday, Sept. 9.
Welcome Days began yesterday with students capping the night with smores and a late night movie on John P. Monahan Plaza by the Anderson Student Center (ASC). Browse the flip book to find Welcome Days activities that suit your interests. Below are a few highlights we encourage everyone to engage in, culminating in March Through the Arches on Tuesday, Sept. 8, the day after Labor Day. Main university offices will be closed for Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 7.

Sept. 3: Meet the Deans at Academic College Day
|
|
|
|
Students have the opportunity to hear from the deans about the standards, expectations and resources available on campus. The Academic College Day event runs from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 3. All students are required to RSVP for at least one session with the school or college of their choice.

Sept. 4: Visit Student Engagement Day and Fair

|

|
Welcome Days leaders will guide first-year Tommies through small group gatherings and the students will also hear from the Welcome Days speaker. Afterwards, students may participate in the Student Engagement Fair. This event runs from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 4. The fair runs from noon-2 p.m.

Sept. 8: March Through the Arches
|
|
|
|
Incoming Tommies will participate in March Through the Arches to carry out the university's long-standing tradition to mark the start of their time as a member of the St. Thomas community. Students should wear their "Be Purple" T-shirt and meet outside the Arches by 10:55 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 8. Everyone else should come cheer them on with a big St. Thomas welcome!

Sept. 8: Attend Opening Ceremony and Interfaith Blessing
|
|
|
|
The Office for Mission invites the St. Thomas community to join the opening ceremony on Tuesday, Sept. 8, inside the Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex (AARC). This event follows March Through the Arches and will provide students an opportunity to hear peers, staff and faculty reflect on shared university convictions, receive a blessing for the upcoming year from faith leaders and chaplains, and enjoy a live performance from a cappella groups.
