Personal Counseling announces three fall counseling groups

Personal Counseling and Testing announces three groups that will meet this fall in the Personal Counseling and Testing group room, Room 370, Murray-Herrick Campus Center.

Connections Group

Wishing you could make friends faster? Wondering if you're the only person who feels this way? Connections is a group specially created for new students (first-year and transfer) who are feeling alone or not yet connected to the university community. Come share your experiences, gain ideas for getting involved and feel supported as you adjust to college life.

Connections meets in Room 370, Murray-Herrick Campus Center. Leaders are Miriam Gerber and Sarah Armstrong. The group will begin to meet the week of Wednesday, Oct. 1.

For more information, call (651) 962-6780 or e-mail Gerber.

Creating Positive Body Image Group

This is a group for women who are interested in improving their body image through talking with others, creative activity and personal reflection. The goal of the group is to help students accept their bodies and, in turn, themselves.

The group meets from 11 a.m. to noon Thursdays, starting Oct. 2, in Room 370, Murray-Herrick Campus Center.

For more information, call leaders, Katy Rimstad or Deb Broderick, (651) 962-6780.

Relationships Group

How do you relate to the people in your life? Ever wonder how others see you? Get feedback and ideas for addressing these questions and enhance your personal relationships, increase self-awareness and strengthen communication skills.

Join the group from 5 to 6:15 p.m. Wednesdays in Room 370, Murray-Herrick Campus Center. If interested in participating, call (651) 962-6780 or e-mail Vanessa Rempel or Terri DeWalt.
