Please Remember Mary Nelson in Your Prayers

Mary NelsonPlease remember in your prayers Mary Nelson, who died Aug. 20. She worked at the Service Center for more than 20 years and was a 1995 St. Thomas alumna. She was the wife of Tom Nelson '75 and mother of Michael Peloquin '97 and Rose Henze (Nelson).

Leann Martens, director of the St. Paul Service Center, said Nelson was known for her many passions, including family, cooking and her avid love of reading, and that she was a longtime friend who will be missed by many.

"Mary had a soft spot for the students that worked for her in Print Inc.," Martens said. "She was someone that the students trusted and was a great listener. She made it her mission in life that nobody ever goes hungry. I know her students would agree that they were all well fed. Many students returned after graduating to visit Mary. She was honored to see them move on with their careers and family. Faculty and staff were always met with a smile and a story."

A memorial Mass was 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, at St. Mary's of Lake, 4690 Bald Eagle Ave., White Bear Lake, with a visitation at 10 a.m.
