Public Safety would like to alert the University of St. Thomas community of an attempted forced entry burglary on campus.
At approximately 1:41 p.m. on Jan. 11, 2013, Public Safety officers were dispatched to a burglary alarm at 2050 Summit Avenue, a non-residential UST property. The alarm was sounding upon officers’ arrival. The front door had been forced open and the frame damaged. Nothing appeared to be missing or damaged in the house. No nearby properties had signs of attempted entry. The St. Paul Police Department was contacted.
Through investigation, two suspects were identified fleeing from the property at the time of the alarm. The first suspect is described as a white male with dark hair, wearing a dark/gray pullover with a hood, dark pants or jeans worn low, wearing tan shoes or boots. The second suspect is described as a white male, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with the hood up (the sweatshirt possibly has an Air Jordan logo on the chest), wearing black pants and dark shoes.
The University of St. Thomas believes that descriptors alone are not a valid reason to profile or cast suspicion on any individual. They are included here because they may reasonably assist in identifying the perpetrator of this incident.
