Students living in off-campus rental properties are strongly encouraged to take the time to assess their properties for safety-related issues/repairs. Landlords are required by law to keep rental units fit to live in and in reasonable repair. Pay special attention to exterior lighting, locks on doors, windows and garages. Ensure smoke detectors function properly and monitor any other potential safety concerns. Renter resources are available from Off-Campus Student Services, (651) 962-6138.
