Student invites you to benefit for family member

Meghan Wilmes, a student in the Evening UST MBA program in St. Thomas' Opus College of Business, invites you to help a family member and her friend.

Wilmes' cousin Mari Plaster and Plaster's boyfriend, Dan Sanford, were severely injured on Aug. 27, Plaster's 21st birthday. The couple was loading birthday presents into the trunk of Sanford's car when it was rear-ended by a driver trying to evade police.

Plaster lost her left leg below the knee and suffered a broken scapula and a dislocated ankle. Sanford had multiple fractures in both legs. Both have had to have many surgeries, including muscle transplants and skin grafts, and will undergo months of therapy.

A spaghetti dinner and silent auction will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, at the Rosetown Memorial American Legion Post 542, 700 W. County Road C, Roseville. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. For tickets, call Al Lewis, (651) 353-7295, or Kim Lewis, (651) 208-9358. Checks can be made payable to "Dan Sanford and Mari Plaster Benefit Fund."

Donations to the fund also are welcome at any US Bank branch.
