Beneath Purple Lights, St. Thomas Robot Project Blooms

The purple light emanating from the Owens Science Hall greenhouse isn't the School of Engineering's homage to the late, great Prince. A cross-departmental team at St. Thomas is testing a robot with the overall goal of addressing the world crisis of food shortages and the development of new technologies to grow healthy crops using less man-made and natural resources.

Senior Lauren Vallez Fetches Prestigious National Science Foundation Fellowship

With the tutelage of a world-renowned professor like Dr. John Abraham and publication credits with smart titles such as "Alterations of Blood Flow Through Arteries Following Atherectomy and the Impact on Pressure Variation and Velocity" to her credit, Lauren Vallez landed one of the nation's most coveted fellowships.
