Calling all actors! Auditions begin tomorrow for two fall St. Catherine University and University of St. Thomas student theater productions, "ComedySportz: University League" and an Ibsen masterpiece, "Hedda Gabler."
Auditions are open to all St. Catherine and St. Thomas students; come to one audition for one or both shows.
Auditions will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, in Rooms 13 and 17 of Brady Educational Center on St. Thomas' south campus, and at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, in Frey Theater at St. Catherine University, 2004 Randolph Ave.
"ComedySportz: University League" runs at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, Oct. 16-17 and 23-24, in O'Shaughnessy Educational Center auditorium at St. Thomas. Two teams of actors go head to head for the biggest laughs, while a referee calls the fouls and gets suggestions from the audience. Roles available include on-stage performers as well as one keyboardist/special effects operator. At auditions, be prepared for group movement and improvisational exercises. Questions? "Hedda Gabler" runs at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, Nov. 18-21, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, in Frey Theater at St. Catherine. The play reveals bitter conflicts and thwarted desires behind a facade of civility in the title character's world. The cast includes four women and three men.
