St. Thomas Trustee Tim Flynn '79 to Speak at First Friday Lunch Nov. 4

St. Thomas 2011 Distinguished Alumnus and St. Thomas trustee Tim Flynn ’79 will share his knowledge and insight on global economic issues at the University of St. Thomas Alumni Association’s First Friday Speaker Series at noon Friday, Nov. 4, at Nicollet Island Pavilion, 40 Power St., near downtown Minneapolis.

Flynn is a former chairman of KPMG International, a Big Four public accounting firm that provides audit, tax and advisory services. KPMG firms employ more than 120,000 professionals in 144 countries. A long-time veteran of the firm, Flynn started his career in KPMG’s Minneapolis office in 1979 and became a partner in 1988.

Flynn has received numerous awards in the corporate sector both locally and nationally. He is the author of two books and has spoken on leadership, ethics and integrity at a number of leading universities. He was named by Accounting Today as one of the Top 100 Influential People in the field.

Flynn was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2006.

On first Fridays of each month during the academic year, the St. Thomas Alumni Association’s First Friday Speaker Series offers lunch and a speaker of current interest. St. Thomas alumni and friends, along with the general public, are invited. Cost of each luncheon and presentation is $25.
