The play was adapted for the stage in 1964 by F. Andrew Leslie from a 1959 novel by Shirley Jackson. It’s all here, going bump in the night, just in time for Halloween: the remote, abandoned, old mansion whose previous residents were mad, suicidal and violent; the researcher trying to prove the supernatural forces at work; the scary house’s evil forces goaded to a new, fatal fury … . Bring a friend!

Cast members include St. Thomas students Ernest Briggs, Mae Saltveit, Tom Gubash and Bridget Mueting, and St. Catherine students Brett Blonigen, Rebecca Russell and Maretta Babler. Jo Ann Holonbek, chair of the UST-CSC Theater Department, directs. St. Thomas student Andrea Wylie is stage manager. Technical director Troy Wilhelmson, set and lighting designer Greg Morrissey and costumer Carol Ann Winther are technical staff for the production.
