UST’s Dr. David Schenk to speak at Feb. 23 Philosophy Colloquium
Dr. David Schenk
Dr. David Schenk of the UST Philosophy Department will present a paper, “Perception and Ordinary Epistemic Faculties,” at the next Philosophy Colloquium from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, in the O’Shaughnessy Educational Center auditorium.
The colloquium is free and open to the public.
According to Schenk, “The purpose of the paper is to defend the claim that some but not all putative religious experiences qualify as genuine perceptual acts on the grounds that they satisfy all the same fundamental criteria shared by the everyday acts of ordinary sense perception.”
