Web Wednesday: The media fast track at UST

Web Wednesday: The media fast track at UST

From Information Resources and Technologies

These days it is definitely "life in the fast lane" for any kind of media on the information and entertainment highway, with drivers ranging from small to large (iPods to big screens); the demand for moving pictures is accelerating at an especially high rate of speed. Video is one of the most powerful media tools when it comes to delivering messages and thanks to more recent vehicles like YouTube, video is almost everywhere you look today.

Things are no different at the University of St. Thomas, where demand for video is currently coming from all avenues and for all reasons: educating, informing, communicating, promoting, recognizing, recruiting, documenting and archiving. Delivery methods are hitting every avenue too; from live events to stand alone videotapes; from authored DVD’s to streamed content for the Web.

The demand certainly has us in that media fast lane, but we are never too busy to show samples of our work. Below are just a few recent examples (along with links to the videos) illustrating the variety and the level of what we produce for UST on a daily basis:

St. Thomas Day - Five videos each year to honor recipients of UST’s Humanitarian, Distinguished Alumnus, Professor of the Year, Tommie and Monsignor James Lavin awards.

It’s easy to find lots of these videos in one place on Bulletin Today’s Speeches and Addresses page.

These are just a few of the videos we have produced so far in 2007. Working titles for productions started or in progress include "Commencement 2007," "Enrollment Recruiting," "Basketball Recruiting," "School of Entrepreneurship," and "Center for Business Excellence," to name a few.
