Catholic Author and Providence College Professor to Speak Here Sept. 19

Dr. Anthony Esolen, an author and English professor at Providence College, will discuss the topic of culture and the relationship it holds with Catholicism in a lecture at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, in the auditorium of O’Shaughnessy Educational Center on the St. Paul campus of the University of St. Thomas.

The lecture, “Culture, What Culture?” is sponsored by St. Thomas’ Center for Catholic Studies and is free and open to the public. For more information call the center at (651) 962-5700.

Esolen teaches courses on Renaissance English literature and the development of Western civilization.

His lecture draws from one of his most recent books, The Politically Incorrect Guide to Western Civilization. His most recent book, 10 Ways to Destroy the Imagination of Your Child, was published this year. He also is a senior editor for Touchstone: A Journal of Mere Christianity, and he writes regularly for Touchstone, First Things, Catholic World Report, Magnificat, This Rock and Latin Mass.
