Conference Feb. 16 is Designed for Minnesota Companies Interested in Doing Business in Europe

A conference on “Doing Business in Europe: Theory and Practice for Minnesota Companies” will be held Thursday, Feb. 16, in Schulze Hall, located on the downtown Minneapolis campus of the University of St. Thomas.

The conference will focus on political, economic and social perspectives of the European Union and will provide information that Minnesota companies, investors and students should know to successfully do business in Europe.

The conference is presented by a partnership of the French-American Chamber of Commerce, the German-American Chamber of Commerce, the Minnesota Trade Office, and St. Thomas’ Opus College of Business.

Among the conference speakers are Adeline Hinderer, deputy head of trade for the Delegation of the European Union to the United States, Washington, D.C.; Dr. Peter Young, a St. Thomas management professor who holds the 3M Endowed Chair in International Business; and Dr. Heino Beckmann, a St. Thomas corporate and international finance professor who is former honorary consul of the Federal Republic of Germany in Minneapolis.

The conference will begin with a light breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Presentations will run from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., when lunch will be served.

Cost of the event, including the meals, is $25 for participating chamber members and St. Thomas students, and $50 for nonmembers.  The deadline for registration is Feb. 14; for more information and to register online, visit this website
