Prior to his current position, Fischer spent the majority of his legal career working in municipal law. He served with Hawkins and Associates, located in the Twin Cities, as city attorney and prosecutor for five cities as well as a litigation associate and research attorney for the League of Minnesota Cities. He also has served with a number of local nonprofit organizations, including Saint Paul’s Outreach, NET Ministries, Total Life Care Centers, The Office of Marriage and Family Life and the Minnesota Family Council.

After graduating, he worked for the University of St. Thomas, where he served under the Office of Mission for two years. He then attended the UST School of Law and was admitted to the Minnesota State Bar in 2006.
