In the News: Jake Sibell on Playing Hockey in Minnesota Again

Jake Sibell, goalie on the men’s hockey team at the University of St. Thomas, recently spoke to The Rink Live about playing closer to home and how he has enjoyed his time back in Minnesota.

From the story:

After spending two seasons at Niagara, Sibell is off to a fast start in his first year at UST, where there’s plenty of familiarity on the roster for the Isanti, Minnesota, native – Tommies forward Mack Byers was teammates with Sibell during their junior hockey days with the Aberdeen Wings of the NAHL, while Sibell’s history with teammates Grant Docter, Ryder Donovan and Liam Malmquist dates back to his youth and high school years.

“Change of scenery, some familiar faces around,” said Sibell, the reigning CCHA Goaltender of the Month for October. “Everything’s lined up pretty good here at St. Thomas, so it’s been fun so far to be playing here close to home. It’s definitely been a really good thing.”
