Tyler Schipper, an associate professor of economics at the University of St. Thomas, was quoted in a report on WCCO-TV about the 25% tariffs President Donald Trump announced the government would place on goods from Mexico and Canada.

From the story;

A recent study from the Pearson Institute for International Economics estimates that these tariffs could cost the average U.S. family more than $1,200 per year. Here, it is predicted that gas prices will increase.

"Economists generally agree that those tariffs get passed on to consumers," Tyler Schipper, an associate professor of economics at the University of St. Thomas, told WCCO in November.
