Liz Mach, a Maryknoll lay missioner, will speak Tuesday, Oct. 11, on her 35 years of service in Africa. Free and open to everyone, the event will be held from noon to 1 p.m. in the O’Shaughnessy Room, Room 108 of the O’Shaughnessy-Frey Library Center.

Mach’s talk will highlight her medical ministry in Africa. She has delivered babies, treated victims of bomb blasts, cared for AIDS orphans, helped build a medical school, rescued girls at risk for genital mutilation, and restored wholeness and dignity to women suffering from obstetric fistula.
Hear the inspirational and faith-filled story of how Mach, a nurse from Minnesota, became involved as a Maryknoll lay missioner. She will reflect on the many blessings and trials she has faced and the hope that sustains her to continue serving in Africa. After the presentation, there will be time for questions and answers.
Those attending are invited to bring a lunch; dessert will be provided.
