Public invited to University of St. Thomas homecoming-reunion celebration Oct. 10

University of St. Thomas alumni and students look forward to the university’s annual homecoming-reunion celebration Oct. 10, and fun is in store for friends and campus neighbors, too.

The following homecoming events are open to the public and take place on St. Thomas’ St. Paul campus:

Homecoming parade: The parade begins at 10 a.m. along Summit Avenue between Fry Street and Cretin Avenue. Watch for floats, bands, cheerleaders and, of course, the St. Thomas mascot, “Tommie.”

Food festival: The annual “Taste of Saints” food fest is like a giant tailgate party. It’s a good place to have a bite to eat before the football game and lasts from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the campus quadrangle. There are children’s activities, too.

Football game: The Tommies take on the Cobbers from Concordia College, Moorhead,  at 1 p.m. on Palmer Field at St. Thomas’ O’Shaughnessy Stadium. Gates open at noon. Tickets are $7 for adults, $3 for students and free for kids under 5 and for UST students, faculty and staff with ID.
