Scooter's Hosts NCAA Volleyball Tournament Viewing Party at 12:30 p.m. Today

Tommie the mascot invites the UST community to join him for lunch in Scooter's today and watch volleyball history in the making. The University of St. Thomas volleyball team will make its first appearance ever in the national volleyball tournament, and Tommie invites the UST community to cheer on the team while watching the match on television screens in Scooter's.

The Tommies open play in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III Volleyball Championship tournament at 12:30 p.m. today, Friday, Nov. 19.

If the Tommies win today they will advance to the semifinals at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20. If the Tommies advance to the national championship match, they will play at 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21.

Scooter's also will host viewing parties on Saturday and Sunday if the Tommies advance. The tournament is being played at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo.

The No. 12-ranked Tommies (31-6) advanced to the eight-team national tournament with a 3-0 triumph over St. Olaf in the regional championships last Sunday. They had previously lost three consecutive matches to St. Olaf, including a 3-0 decision in Northfield in the MIAC playoff finals.
