Sing Heavenly Harmony on Sunday in the library

After feasting on Thanksgiving, and later perhaps shopping for Christmas presents, members of the St. Thomas community are invited to slow down some and join Sing Heavenly Harmony, a.k.a. SHH!, from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 28, in the O'Shaughnessy Room (108) of O'Shaughnessy-Frey Library Center.

SHH! is a community sing led by Conie Borchardt, former circulation manager at the library.

"Sing Heavenly Harmony is an opportunity to reconnect with the instrument of sound that was installed at the factory. Without paper and without accompanying instruments, participants will sing songs of the heart from a variety of folk, global and spiritual traditions," Borchardt remarked. "Come early and stay late if you can, or come late and leave early if you must, but bring yourself and some water – and if you feel so inclined a song to share, too."

The remaining sings of 2010 will feature a particular emphasis on contemplative and meditative songs and chants.

Future sings:

  • Sunday, Dec. 12, 1-3 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Dec. 22, noon-1 p.m.
