Dr. Catherine Marrs Fuchsel

Catherine Marrs Fuchsel, who works in the School of Social Work, has been awarded tenure by St. Catherine University and promoted to associate professor.

Marrs Fuchsel came to the School of Social Work in fall 2009. She primarily teaches in the MSW program, including Human Behavior in the Social Environment, Methods of Clinical Social Work, Clinical Supervision and Program Management, and Psychopathology and Human Behavior.

Her research interests focus on intervention and prevention of domestic violence and sexual abuse, empowerment of women, and delivery of services among the Latino population, specifically, the immigrant Mexican community in Minnesota. She was recognized for her work on domestic abuse with the Abigail Quigley McCarthy Center for Women’s 2010-11 Research and Creative Work on Women Award.
