Spring Fitness Classes Start Monday, March 28

Second session spring fitness classes are now on sale. Classes begin the week of Monday, March 28, at the Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex. The classes are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and are open to all St. Thomas undergraduate students, graduate and professional students, faculty and staff who are AARC members.

Classes cost $50 for a package of eight one-hour sessions. Each class meets twice a week for a total of four weeks. All classes will be held in one of the AARC’s aerobic studios, Room 112 or 113.

Schedule of classes:

  • Sculpt5:30-6:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays
    Sculpt classes provide a yoga-inspired workout that tones the whole body. Free weights used in the class allow individuals to personalize the intensity of the workout. During this four-week program class members will build lean muscle, burn calories and boost their metabolism.
  • Spinning6:15-7:15 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays
    Love to work up a serious sweat and burn a lot of calories? Then Spinning is for you. In this one-hour class, participants simulate road cycling on stationary bikes while guided by an instructor and motivated by high-energy music.
  • TRX – 6:15-7:15 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays
    Ready for the challenge? TRX is high-intensity resistance suspension training. During this four-week program, participants will push their bodies to the next level. These intense workouts build strength, balance and flexibility.
  • YogaSection 1, 4:30-5:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays
                    Section 2, noon-1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays
    Unwind after class with this beginner-level class. Yoga increases flexibility, strength and endurance.
  • Zumba5-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays
    This class will incorporate all aspects of an energizing, calorie-burning workout. Easy to follow Latin-inspired dance aerobics will move every part of your body – a sure way to fire up.
