St. Thomas to host information sessions about graduate program in art history

The University of St. Thomas will hold two information sessions next month for prospective students about its Master of Arts in Art History program.

The first begins at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, in the university’s Luann Dummer Center for Women, Room 103, O’Shaughnessy Educational Center.

The second, on St. Thomas’ downtown Minneapolis campus, begins at noon Wednesday, Sept. 23, in in Room 450 of Terrence Murphy Hall.

Students from a variety of disciplines are invited to learn about the program’s faculty, students and alumni, degree and nondegree courses of study, admission and application requirements, fellowship and assistantship opportunities, course content and interdisciplinary opportunities for graduate art history students. A new application deadline, Nov. 1, has been established for students beginning the program in spring semester 2010.

The 12-course M.A. program admitted its first students in 1998. The program provides professional preparation for academic, museum and teaching careers in art history.
