TPT to rebroadcast UST programs; some available online, too

Twin Cities Public Television soon will rebroadcast four programs that originated at the University of St. Thomas as well as make others available on its streaming video service.

Robert Pastor’s Views on NAFTA,” a TPT rebroadcast of an April 24, 2008, speech at St. Thomas by the former national security adviser on the “North American Idea,” will be shown on TPT’s statewide digital Minnesota Channel (tptMN) at 10 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, and 4 and 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, on tptMN.

This program also has been placed in TPT's Minnesota Video Vault, a streaming video service that offers users free access to many years' worth of documentaries, performances, interviews and speeches. It is searchable by title and interests such as "Minnesota Issues" or "Arts and Entertainment.

Also available in TPT's Minnesota Video Vault is a broadcast of the December 2008 forum held at St. Thomas about the controversial Israeli-Palestinian situation, “Interfaith Bridges to Holy Land Peace.”

“Engineering, Minnesota’s Future: George Buckley,” a rebroadcast of a Jan. 24, 2007, address at St. Thomas by the chairman, president and CEO of 3M, will be shown on tptMN at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, and 1 and 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 9.

“News and Audience Responsibilities,” covering St. Thomas’ 2009 Whalen Symposium “Whose News? Audience Responsibilities in a Digital World,” airs on tptMN at 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, and 2 and 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 9.

“DePalma on North America as a Nation,” a rebroadcast of the April 2008 Donald B. Regan Distinguished Lecture by award-winning New York Times journalist and author Anthony DePalma, will air on tptMN at 10 p.m. Monday, June 21, and 4 and 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 22.
