Twin Cities corporations to face one another in coed flag-football championship

Coed flag-football teams from Twin Cities corporations will face off Friday and Saturday, Nov. 6 and 7, in the 2009 Twin Cities Corporate Championship (TCCC).

Sponsored by the University of St. Thomas Evening MBA Program, the double-elimination event will bring together teams from Target, General Mills, Ameriprise and other Twin Cities corporations.

Kick-off will be at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at the Northeast Athletic Fields at 1615 Pierce St. NE, Minneapolis. Games will run until 10 p.m. Friday and continue from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7.  The winning team will receive t-shirts and bragging rights for the year.

The event is free and open to the public.

In addition to facilitating two days of friendly, fall football, the TCCC will raise money to help the nonprofit organization Feed My Starving Children alleviate hunger in the world.

“Target is thrilled to participate in the Twin Cities Corporate Championship," said Jen Jensen, onboarding manager from Target. "The event provides an opportunity for team members to socially connect with other active professionals in the community.”

“What began as a fun idea has developed into a wonderful event, full of socializing, football and an opportunity to help children in need,” said Shanna Davis, president of TCCC and assistant director of admissions for St. Thomas' Evening UST MBA program.
