One of the things I’ve truly enjoyed about moving back to Minnesota and joining St. Thomas is the authentic sense of community that exists here. At St. Thomas, community impacts so many facets of our joint work together, including how we interact with one another and help everyone bring out their best effort.
I have also felt this strong sense of shared purpose in the interactions that I have had so far with St. Thomas alumni. There is a true collective commitment to making our programs, our college, our university, our neighborhoods and our state better. Your engagement with the Opus College of Business gives me a great sense of optimism as I look ahead to a new year and new initiatives for our faculty and staff, our alumni and our current – and future – students.
In the year ahead, I hope you will see many positive changes in the college…changes designed to increase the value of your degree, expand your career opportunities and make it easy to connect with your classmates and other alumni. Whatever the changes, you can be assured that they will be driven by our mission: to develop effective, principled business leaders who think globally, act ethically and create enduring value for society.
I wish you and your families a holiday season full of wonder and new beginnings. While the ways in which we celebrate and the holidays we celebrate may differ, we all share an enduring commitment to the University of St. Thomas, which reminds us on a daily basis of the greater purpose of our work together.
