All College Council still needs commuter senator and neighborhood senator
The All College Council has two positions remaining for the 2005-2006 school year. Both the commuter senator and neighborhood senator positions still are available. To run, just e-mail a personal statement (500 characters) to the ACC. Deadline is today, Friday, Oct. 7. Applicants will be contacted by the ACC Elections and Credentials Committee the following week.
Duties of the commuter senator:
- Commuter senator shall represent the St. Thomas commuter student population (those students who do not reside in Merriam Park or Macalester Groveland communities)
- Will work closely with the Commuter Center on programs and issues and will work with ACC goals that are geared toward students who are in the commuter population.
- Will work closely with the associate dean of Student Life who works in the Commuter Center.
- Will serve on the University Parking Appeals Committee.
Qualifications of the commuter senator:
- Candidates must meet all standards of academics, registration and be in good disciplinary standing with the university.
Duties of the neighborhood senator
- Neighborhood senator shall represent the St. Thomas Neighborhood student population of the ACC.
- A neighborhood senator shall serve as a liaison to the Merriam Park Community Council.
- Will work on ACC goals that are specifically geared toward students who live in the direct neighborhood of St. Thomas.
- Will work with the St. Thomas neighborhood liaison in University Relations to accomplish different goals.

- Candidates must meet all standards of academics, registration and be in good disciplinary standing with the university.
