Day two of Body Image Awareness Week will feature a presentation on nutrition, a discussion of body image and the media, and a discussion on loving your body.
Christina Meyer-Jax will give a presentation on "Good Nutrition from the Couch Potato to the Athlete" from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, in Room 126, John R. Roach Center for the Liberal Arts. This event is intended for everyone – from the proverbial couch potato to the NCAA athlete. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided
A discussion on "Body Image and Media" will take place from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, in the Koch Commons Fireside Room. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. Limited spots available for this event. More information and pre-registration are available here.
A panel discussion on "Loving Your Body in a Hostile World" will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, in the O'Shaughnessy ("Leather") Room (108), O'Shaughnessy-Frey Library Center. The panel will focus on learning to love your body despite media and other outlets that make doing so difficult. Light refreshments and free T-shirts will be provided.

Learning to love what you see in the mirror
We all want to look our best, but a healthy body is not always linked to appearance. In fact, healthy bodies come in all shapes and sizes. Changing your body image means changing the way you think about your body. At the same time, healthy lifestyle choices are also key to improving body image.
- Healthy eating can promote healthy skin and hair, along with strong bones.
- Regular exercise has been shown to boost self-esteem, self-image and energy levels.
- Plenty of rest is key to stress management.
