Buy a bracelet, raffle tickets to support UST students' service trip

The University of St. Thomas Business 200 program will continue its fundraising efforts today through Friday, March 16. Authentic Mexican-made UST bracelets are for sale for $10. The group also is raising funds through a raffle with prizes including an iPod, Banana Cabana boating and lounging tube, and dinner for two at Café 128.

Tables will be set up at the Grill, Cafeteria, and first-floor, McNeely Hall. All donations are tax-deductible.

All funds raised will help send 10 students, led by Dr. Barbara Gorski, to the edge of Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, the week of spring break to assist an organization called Casa De Gazo continue its efforts to build an orphanage.

The group's tasks will include clearing jungle brush, planting vegetable gardens and helping to finish the three houses that already have been built. At its completion, the orphanage will hold 120 Mexican children in a foster family atmosphere.
