Hairworks, the barbershop located in the lower level of Murray-Herrick Campus Center on the university’s St. Paul campus, will be closing as of Oct. 28, it was announced by Bruce Van den Berghe, associate vice president for auxiliary services.
Van den Berghe said the campus will not likely have a barber or stylist until an operator is selected to run the new salon that will be located in the lower level of the Anderson Student Center, which is scheduled to open in January 2012.
The new salon will feature hairstyling for women and men and also will offer manicures and pedicures.
Van den Berghe said the university is interested in receiving proposals to operate the new salon from operators who are legally licensed as a cosmetologist manager. If you know of someone who might be interested in this opportunity, have them contact Van den Berghe at (651) 962-6060.
Zac Pease has been the campus barber since 2006, when Bill Weston retired after 35 years here.
