Change in location for Oct. 10 talk by Václav Havel scholar

There is a change in location for an upcoming talk by Dr. Thomas Gouttierre, one of the nation's foremost experts on Afghanistan who will spend a week at the University of St. Thomas as a Václav Havel Civil Society scholar.

Gouttierre, dean of international studies and director of the Center for Afghanistan Studies at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, will give a talk and lead a discussion on the legal and education systems in Afghanistan from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, on the university's Minneapolis campus.

The talk originally was scheduled to be given at the School of Law building. It now will be given in Thornton Auditorium in Terrence Murphy Hall.

Free and open to the public, the talk is co-sponsored by St. Thomas' School of Law and School of Education.

Gouttierre is participating in six St. Thomas events that are open to the public next week. For details, click on the button at the bottom of St. Thomas' home Web page, or go to this Bulletin Today story.
