Charitable Giving Campaign kicks off today
The 2009 Charitable Giving Campaign kicks off today and runs through Friday, Nov. 7. Through charitable giving, faculty and staff have the opportunity to voluntarily provide financial support to many charitable organizations, either through one of the seven federations or by designating an organization of your choice. This year, more than ever, our community needs our help.
You should have received a booklet in the mail that includes information about each of the federations, along with a pledge form and a return envelope. If you have questions or need additional information about a federation and the organizations it supports, review the booklet you received or choose one of the links listed on the Charitable Giving Web site.
In addition to contributing through the federations, you also have the opportunity to designate specific agencies of your choice to be the recipient of your donation(s), (e.g., Catholic Charities, Lutheran Social Services, United Jewish Fund, etc.). Using payroll deduction makes giving almost painless, but cash and checks are also welcome.
The seven federations are:
- Community Health Charities
- Community Shares of Minnesota (formerly Community Solutions Fund)
- Greater Twin Cities United Way
- Minnesota Environmental Fund
- Open Your Heart to the Hungry and the Homeless
- United Arts
- United Negro College Fund
Please thoughtfully consider donating this year to our Charitable Giving Campaign. The need is great and no contribution is too small.
Complete and return your pledge form to the Office for Mission (Mail #AQU104) by Nov. 7. This is a special opportunity for the St. Thomas community to make a difference in the community around us. As our theme states, “Our Community is Counting on Us!”
