CILCE Corner: $16,500 Service Scholarship Available for Sophomores

The Jay and Rose Phillips Family Foundation annually awards $16,500 to six sophomores from Minnesota private colleges and universities. Administered by the Minnesota Private College Fund, the scholarship is awarded to students with excellent academic standing who have a demonstrated an interest in community service activities. Each applicant must propose a service project for summer 2013 that benefits a local community.

CILCE invites students interested in applying for the Phillips Scholarship to an informational meeting on Thursday, Nov. 3. The session will be held from noon to 1 p.m. at the CILCE Center, Room 153, Murray-Herrick Campus Center. Phillips scholars Bryant Ortega and Amanda McNaughton, as well as a representative from the Minnesota Private College Fund, will be available to answer questions.

The Phillips Scholarship application is available online here or for pick-up outside the CILCE Center in Room 153, Murray-Herrick Campus Center. Applications are due Friday, Nov. 18.
