St. Thomas’ annual Taste of Saints, the Homecoming celebration food festival, will be held Saturday, Oct. 10.
This year, the Student Alumni Council offers student clubs and organizations a variety of ways to raise money at Taste of Saints.
Food-related opportunities
Students can sign up to work shifts on Friday or Saturday, preparing food, setting up, cooking food, serving food or cleaning up. There are 100 spots available for students to work (with limited spots on Friday afternoon). Each student who works will earn money per shift for his or her club’s budget. This is a fun and easy way for clubs to earn funds.
Club members interested in working a food shift should e-mail SAC adviser Katie Stephens. Volunteers will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. A maximum of 10 student volunteers per club can be accepted.
Fun-related opportunities
New this year, clubs and organizations also have the opportunity to sponsor activities at Taste of Saints. Activities could include: face-painting, helping kids at the inflated castles where they jump and play, and whatever great idea your club has.
Be creative. This is a fun new way for clubs to be involved in Homecoming and an opportunity to interact with other students, alumni and the entire St. Thomas community.
Clubs interested in getting involved with Taste of Saints should e-mail Stephens. Clubs must work with the Alumni Association staff to select vendors and set prices. After a club pays set-up fees, any money its members make that day can go to the club’s budget. A maximum of six clubs can provide activities.
Whether your group is interested in getting involved with the food or the activities at Taste of Saints, include the club name, adviser name, contact person and e-mail address, index number and activity code.
The deadline to sign up for Taste of Saints is Thursday, Oct. 1.
Taste of Saints is sponsored by the Alumni Association and the Student Alumni Council.
