Alcohol Awareness Poster Contest results announced
From the Wellness Center
The University of St. Thomas Wellness Center hosted an Alcohol Awareness Poster Contest open to the St. Thomas student community. Judging for this contest was held on Friday, Jan. 20.
Participants were asked to create a poster of their own design to inform the UST community about the safety of alcohol. They were required to include some of the following facts and information:
- State law prohibits drinking of alcoholic beverages if you are under 21
- If you choose to drink:
– Drink slowly
– Allow time between drinks
– Eat food before and while you drink
– Drink water, soda or juice between alcoholic drinks
– Stop when you have reached your limit
– Don’t accept drinks from others
– Plan how you will get home
– Don’t mix alcohol with medications or drugs
– Be safe
There were 12 entries submitted. The winner received a $100 gift certificate to the UST Bookstore.
The top poster winners are:

- First runner-up, Kristin Nelson, “A Drinking Game” (#12)
- Second runner-up, Shannon Kujawski, “Alcohol, Choose Wisely” (#7)
- Third runners-up, Nathan Worrell, “Free Beer” (#2) and Krista Lance, “Alcohol” (#8)
