The University of St. Thomas' Up 'til Dawn program will host its annual letter-writing finale from 8 p.m. to midnight Wednesday, Nov. 2, in the field house of the Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex.
The event gives students the opportunity to help raise money to support patients at the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Students address letters, with information about St. Jude, to their friends and family. When students have completed their letters, there will be free food, inflatables, prizes and more.
St. Jude treats children with childhood diseases, mainly cancer, and also conducts research. No family is turned away for financial reasons and the hospital works hard to make the children and their families as comfortable as possible.
More information about the hospital is in this video. It was made by a family from St. Paul whose child is treated at St. Jude. Drew, the child in the video, and his family will be guest speakers at the Up 'til Dawn event here Wednesday.
