Educational leadership doctoral candidate Zeinab Abdalla and her dissertation adviser, Dr. Candace Chou, conducted a workshop titled “Voices from Somali Educators: Effective Strategies in Engaging with Parents” at the Education Minnesota 2022 MEA Conference. Abdalla is currently conducting dissertation research on the challenges and opportunities faced by Somali K-12 educators during the COVID-19 pandemic. She shared some of the preliminary findings and solutions to work with Somali families at the MEA conference.
